Join the Historic Arkansas Preservation Program, the North Little Rock History Commission and the Division of Arkansas Heritage for Sandwiching in History at St. Joseph Center of Arkansas in North Little Rock on October 2.
Constructed in 1910 by The Catholic Diocese of Little Rock under the direction of Bishop John Baptist Morris, St. Joseph's Orphanage grew to house and school around 300 children by 1914. St. Joseph's Orphanage was managed by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith who taught and oversaw the children as well as maintained the surrounding vast farm and its animals. Sandwiching in History Tours are FREE and OPEN to the public and require NO RSVP.
