The next installment of the Art Department, a quarterly exhibition series hosted by Thea Foundation in North Little Rock, will feature the work of Bryan Frazier in an exhibition titled “Battlefields.” The exhibition will be up February 7 through February 28 in the Thea Foundation gallery, and a reception will be held Friday, February 7, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Thea Foundation. $20 at the door covers heavy hors d'oeuvres by Heritage Catering, an open beer and wine bar, and the chance to win free tickets to Thea's next Art Department.
The “Battlefields” exhibition will feature Frazier's abstract paintings as well as drawings and other mixed media works, including screen printing. Of his work, Frazier says, “My paintings are drawings as much as they are paintings… There's little meaning beyond the representation of elements and media on the surface and how the painting is constructed physically. Everything must work in parallel or it becomes a waiting game. It is essentially controlled chaos.”
For the opening reception, all items will be available for purchase, and Frazier will be present to discuss his work and inspirations.
Note: The February 7 opening reception for “Battlefields” will be 21+ and guests should be prepared to show their identification prior to entry. Thea Foundation is located at 401 Main Street in North Little Rock. Gallery hours are M – F, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., 1 – 5 p.m. For more information, visit link, call 501-379-9512, or email amanda@theafoundation.org.
